I deliberately won't blog about the details of this true story - I don't want to spoil anything or take away from the message.
I simply want you to watch the film and then ask yourself these three questions:
1. What was so important that would cause these men to do what they did?
2. Knowing all that he knew, what was so important that the son did what he did?
3. What would you do? How would you respond? Why?
The real message of this story lives in the answers to these three questions.
I hope you will go see the film and consider these questions.
I will tell you one thing about the move itself. Stay to the very end. There's are some worthwhile clips half way through the credits.
Discussion/Comments (3):
I'm really wanting to see this. I grew up with the story. Nate Saint's son Phil was my 4th grade teacher (and the most amazing teacher I ever had). I was surprised but happy to see that the story is going to get more widespread attention.

I was disappointed in this movie - it did not convey the real reason these men would risk life, and give up the comforts of home. If you knew nothing of the story before watching it, you would be left with an impression that they simply wanted to make contact and be friends. But in fact they wanted to bring Christ in clear picture (their lives) and word (the spoken gospel). I think Hollywood missed the point, which I suppose does not surprise me.

David, thanks for your comment. Hollywood did miss the point, however, they provided a wonderful opportunity for us, as Christians, to share why this story is significant. It's an ideal conversation-starter.
